What we collect

Hydrometric stores the information needed to run your account, preserve your assessments and support review. Contributing to community learning is optional.

Your account and work

  • Your email, sign-in records and any profile information you add.
  • Your projects, uploaded files, catchment locations and descriptors, results, method choices, overrides, reports, comments and review records.
  • Your plan, usage and payment references. Stripe handles your payment details.
  • Security and performance records, and information you submit in bug reports. If you use the assistant, your messages and relevant analysis context are sent to its model provider to generate replies.

These records support your work and the people you choose to share it with. They are separate from the optional community summaries below.

Agent conversations

The Agent workspace sends your conversation and selected assessment evidence to the provider you connect. OpenRouter routes this to the downstream model provider. Your provider account pays for model usage.

Your API key is held only for the current page session and the requests needed to contact that provider. Hydrometric does not save it in your account, browser storage or conversation. Conversations, tool activity, assessment revisions and available usage receipts are stored to let you resume and inspect your work.

This operational record is separate from community learning. Hydrometric does not automatically add Agent conversations to the community evidence base or use them for model training.

Your NRFA database copy

When you upload your own NRFA Peak Flow Dataset, we retain the ZIP privately against your account, together with its filename, size, version, checksum, upload date and your confirmation that you obtained your own licensed copy. It is not shared with your team or included in community learning.

Uploading a copy does not change the reference dataset used for calculations. Each assessment records the dataset actually used. Replaced files and files belonging to an erased account are queued for removal after any temporary upload permission has expired.

You can manage your copy under Account → NRFA database.

Community learning is your choice

Sharing starts only when you opt in on your account and separately consent on an individual assessment. When that assessment is signed off, Hydrometric can record a coarse summary:

  • Catchment descriptor bands, donor count and adjustment type, and the selected distribution.
  • How the adopted estimate compares with the default and, where available, the range of methods.
  • The class of reviewing organisation and a 10 km by 10 km grid square (100 km²), where a National Grid location is available.

The community view shows aggregate summaries. It does not expose your account identity, assessment identifier, exact site coordinates or analyst notes. Internally, the summary remains linked to its assessment so consent and deletion can be managed.

Sharing your own analyst notes requires a separate choice. Author details and timestamps are removed, but the words themselves are retained and may contain identifying information. Notes are not displayed in the community view.

You can change your account sharing preference in your account. New assessment versions do not inherit assessment consent.
